Motion capture was originally developed for the purpose of quantifying human movement. Until around 2014, it was mostly used in fields such as gait analysis in medical settings and understanding human movement in sports. After that, with the advancement of PCs and other technologies, it progressed into the realms of gaming and CG, and now, with rapid improvements in accuracy, it is used across various industries, including automotive, architecture, and construction materials, as a measurement tool, as well as for controlling drones and robots.
